Camborne & Redruth Camera Club (CRCC)

Sunday 4th July 2010

The Club added to its Summer Field Trip programme a Thursday evening (24-06-10) visit to St Ives with a view to photographing the sunset from Porthmeor. Unfortunately the plans were thwarted as there was a fog bank just off the coast nullifying any chance of a good picture. However for those members who stayed later their disappointment was compensated by a full moon illuminating the harbour and some interesting and ethereal pictures were taken.

On Sunday (27-06-10) the Club journeyed into Devon to visit the Stover Country Park and Nature Reserve situated between Bovey Tracey and Newton Abbot. As expected there was plenty to photograph including many different species of dragonflies.

Last Sunday (04-07-10) the Club ran a well supported trip to Marazion and St Michael’s Mount. The group met just after the morning high tide but fortunately the ferry boats were operating, even though there was a strong wind blowing, giving choppy conditions for the trip to the Mount. The weather conditions made photography extremely difficult, however some images were achieved. The trip was curtailed by the onset of mist turning to rain.

The next scheduled field trip is on Sunday (18-07-10) to the European Grasstrack Championships at Washaway between Bodmin and Wadebridge. The following Sunday (25-07-10) the Club will be visiting the Boconnoc Steam Fair.
