July 2008

The Winter Programme is now online for your viewing, as is the Club Rules for the new season.

There is a change to the Summer programme. The trip to Mount Edgcumbe on the 10th August is being postponed as there is work going on within the park and the gardens are suffering like lots of others due to the weather.  Members were keen to do another trip into Devon and so we are going back to Buckfastleigh for the Steam Trains and Butterflies on the 10 August.  There will be a chance to stop on the way back and film the Tamar bridges for the set subject competition if they want.

Also there is an additional date  on 31 July at Porthleven.

Last Thursday (26-06-08) members of the Camborne-Redruth Camera Club met at Godrevy for their evening field trip. Unfortunately their intention to photograph a Godrevy sunset was thwarted by the heavy cloud base and rain. However there was one bright moment when a very surprised Mark Omerod received a wedding gift from the Club’s Chairman Reg Poad on behalf of the members to celebrate his forthcoming marriage to his fiancée Ness.

On Sunday (29-06-08) there was an all-day field trip. Members met at West Pentire to photograph the corn marigolds, poppies, fulmars and coastal scenery. Initially the weather was very overcast but soon broke into a sunny morning, however a very strong wind blowing from the sea made photography that more difficult.

The group moved on to Bedruthan Steps for lunch after which they photographed the iconic Cornish scene as well as other areas in the vicinity.

The next field trip is scheduled for Sunday 13th July with a return visit to the Dartmoor Zoological Park at Sparkwell. Members are asked to meet at its Car Park at 10.30am.

The following Sunday, 20th July, will be a first time visit to the Boconnoc Steam Fair held in the grounds of Boconnoc House nr Liskeard. Again members are asked to meet in the Fair’s Car Park at 10.30 am.
