May 2008

Last Thursday evening (22-05-08) the Camborne-Redruth Camera Club (C-RCC) at the Treleigh Church Hall concluded its Winter Programme with a Discussion Evening. Members were asked to bring along ten digital images taken at recent Field Trips for general discussion, the aim being to suggest possible ways images could be improved by cropping, cloning and manipulation. Even though members had been at the same venues it was interesting to see how each had interpreted the same subject differently. Some were factual, some creative and others with humour. The members who were prepared to have their work analysed were:- Carol and Alec Weyman, Charles Charlton, Jim Tarbox, Clive Kingsley, David Johnson, Delia Trathen , Jenny Goodman, Peter Keverne, Mary and Reg Poad.

In addition Clive Kingsley explained about the setting up of a ‘Yahoo Group’ which would be in addition to the Club’s Web site but purely for C-RCC members only. One would be able to post pictures on to the site for discussion and a Forum would also be available to enable members to seek technical help, discuss equipment and offer items for sale. There was general interest is this proposal and Clive was given the go ahead to set up this interesting concept.

The evening ended with a short DVD on ‘How to convert a digital image into a watercolour picture’.
Reg Poad (Chairman) in conclusion thanked the members for their support throughout the Winter Programme and hoped they would continue in the same vein for the Summer Field Trip Programme
